In a significant move to enhance legislative collaboration and institutional capacity-building, His Excellency, Rt. Honourable Barthelemy Kassa, Vice President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Benin, led a delegation to Nigeria’s National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS on Tuesday, 5th November 2024.
The visit marked a milestone in regional legislative cooperation with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NILDS and the Parliamentary Institute of Benin. This agreement aims to foster knowledge exchange, support legislative research, and enhance parliamentary functions, reinforcing democratic governance in both nations.
Prof. Abubakar O. Sulaiman, Director General of NILDS, highlighted that the partnership underscores the robust ties between Nigeria and the Republic of Benin, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening legislative institutions across West Africa.
