Promoting Good Governance: Nilds Partners With Federal University, Lokoja to Improve Legislative Capacity
The National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) has said that it is opened to partner with development agencies across the world to enhance not only its institutional capacity but also improve legislative outputs and parliamentary service delivery in Nigeria.
The Director General of the Legislative Institute, Professor Abubakar O Sulaiman made this known when he received the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Lokoja in his office on Thursday.
Speaking, the NILDS boss lauded the efforts of the University administrators for deeming it necessary to establish an institute for the promotion of good governance and development in the country.
He said NILDS under his leadership will work with the University especially in the areas of training to build the capacity of its workers, Parliamentary staff and Legislators across the country.
In his response, the Vice Chancellor ,Federal University, Lokoja, Professor, Olayemi Akinwunmi said the University looks forward to a fruitful collaboration with the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) to effectively broaden its scope in the field of Legislative studies and Parliamentary administration.
