NILDS, NESG in Fresh Move to Enhance Nigerian Economy Through Legislative Engagements.

The National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) and the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG) are exploring potential areas of collaboration to enhance the growth and resilience of the Nigerian economy through legislative engagements.

During a courtesy visit by a delegation from NESG, led by Mrs. Seun Ojo, discussions centered around establishing collaboration between NILDS and NESG to identify opportunities for enhancing the growth and resilience of the Nigerian economy through legislative engagements.

The meeting also delved into the possibility of synergy in training and certification, with NESG expressing its interest in involving the Institute prominently in its future activities and programs.

Prof. Abubakar O. Sulaiman, the Director General of NILDS, welcomed the delegation and highlighted how the meeting aligned with the Institute’s mandate. He emphasized that it provided another avenue for both organizations to identify collaborative areas aimed at enhancing the growth and resilience of the Nigerian economy through legislative engagements.

Furthermore, Prof. Sulaiman noted that the research, academic, and policy activities of NILDS span across the eight Workgroups and Policy Commissions of NESG. These areas include Agriculture and Food Security, Trade, Investment and Competitiveness, Infrastructure, Human Development, Real and Services Sectors, Governance and Institutions, Science and Technology, and Oil & Gas.
