National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), in collaboration with the Young Communicators Initiative, on Thursday hosted the Vision 2035 AI-Athon 2.0 Digital Leadership Workshop and Speech Contest in Abuja.

The programme, organised under the theme, “Building LeadHERs of Today for the Leadership of Tomorrow: The Daughters We Raise Today, the Leaders We Meet Tomorrow,” was designed to commemorate the International Day of the Girl Child by equipping young girls with essential leadership skills, digital literacy, and public speaking confidence.

Declaring the programme open, the Director General, NILDS, Prof. Abubakar O. Sulaiman congratulated the young participants and emphasised the importance of investing in girls and preparing them for leadership roles.

“To every young woman in this room, we celebrate you today and wish you a very happy International Day of the Girl Child in advance,” the DG said.

Sulaiman noted that the Institute had continued to demonstrate its commitment to issues affecting the girl child through a series of programmes and initiatives.

He encouraged the participants to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the programme to develop their skills, build confidence, and prepare themselves for future leadership responsibilities.
