Professor Abubakar Sulaiman, the Director-General of the National Institute of Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), has urged the Imo State Assembly to pass a law promoting fiscal responsibility and citizen participation.
Sulaiman made this appeal on Friday during the closing ceremony of a three-day workshop held in Abuja for the leadership, members, and staff of the Imo State House of Assembly.
He praised the assembly for enacting the 2024 Appropriation Act and launching its e-procurement portal initiative.
“There is still much work to be done in establishing a fiscal responsibility law and increasing citizen involvement in the budget process,” Sulaiman emphasized.
