The Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Prof. Abubakar O Sulaiman delivered an orientation session for the newly appointed staff of the Institute’s Democracy Radio. He outlined the overarching vision behind Democracy Radio, emphasizing its role as a crucial intermediary between the Legislature and the people. He highlighted that the station’s primary objective is to serve as a platform to counter the proliferation of misinformation about the government and its policies and particularly the Parliament, while also educating the public about their electoral rights.
Prof. Sulaiman further encouraged the staff to collaborate effectively to advance the radio station’s mission of promoting democracy and serving the nation’s interests. He stressed the importance of cultivating a harmonious work environment akin to a family to prevent toxicity within the organization.
